Can I convert my existing irrigation system to use my tank water supply?
Yes. Providing the system is reasonably good operating condition and the water supply is sufficient to operate the system. Generally all that is required is that a pressure pump of sufficient capacity is installed to provide the required water pressure. In some cases, the irrigation system may require modification to ensure the most effective use of your tank water supply.

Can I connect my irrigation system to both mains and tank water?
Yes. We can install a cross-over connection to allow you to manually swap between using your tank water when plentiful and mains water when the tank level is low (subject to local water restrictions). The main consideration is the comparative pressure delivered by the tank water pump and the mains water supply. This may require some modification to the irrigation stations or installation of a pressure reducing valve.

How much water can I save with drip irrigation?
Generally speaking, drip irrigation in garden beds installed under 50-100mm of mulch can reduce your water consumption by around 40% compared with spray irrigation. This type of irrigation is most effective because it supplies water to the root zone where it is most needed and vastly reduces water loss by evaporation.

What about my lawn pop-up sprinklers?
Replacing existing lawn sprinklers with under-turf drip irrigation can be costly. You may want to consider installing an automated controller (or re-programming your existing controller) to water your lawn using the minimum amount to maintain the look and health of your lawn. Moisture and rain sensor controls can also be installed for further irrigation efficiency.
