During the recent drought and severe water restrictions, many residents connected irrigation systems to a rainwater tank water supply. Using rainwater is still an extremely effective way to reduce potable water consumption for irrigation. For your convenience though, we can install cross-over connections between the tank and mains water supplies so that your irrigation program can continue in times when tank levels are low but still take advantage of using rainwater when it is plentiful.
Irrigation systems connected to an automatic controller can be set to irrigate the various areas of your lawn and garden at different intervals for varying lengths of time. This allows effective control of watering plants with differing moisture needs.
Combined with a Smart Approved WaterMark rain sensor and/or soil moisture sensor, you can achieve the most water-efficient means of irrigating your lawn and garden with the least amount of effort from you!
This type of irrigation is most effective because it supplies water to the root zone where it is most needed and vastly reduces water loss by evaporation.
Generally speaking, drip irrigation in garden beds installed under 50-100mm of mulch can reduce your water consumption by around 40% compared with spray irrigation.
